Overland One Foundation provides the gift of mobility in remote locations by:

Raising DONATIONS

  • Overland One cannot function without financial contributions, our work begins here.

  • We have NO paid staff and rely on donations of money, time, talent and ideas.

  • Donations are used to produce and deliver wheelchairs.

Finding Individuals

  • Our in-country partners are an integral part of our operation; we only work with honest, compassionate and talented volunteers and municipalities; who help us identify those most in-need in remote parts of their country.

  • We seek children or young adults, but we are open to recipients of all ages.

  • We actively pursue connections in new locations around the world that will benefit from our work.

Building wheelchairs

  • Our wheelchairs are designed to last 25+ years with minimal maintenance.

  • Each wheelchair is built to meet the needs of the recipient.

  • Every component of the wheelchair is sourced and built in-country. Building "in country" helps provide economic growth to developing areas and is one of the benefits of our foundation's structure.

  • We have designed the wheelchairs to ensure minimal waste, value pricing and solid construction.

Delivering Wheelchairs

  • We partner with municipalities who help cover the wheelchair delivery costs. These government and community leaders understand the opportunity and peace of mind mobility will bring to those living in their communities.

  • We travel for long days on rough roads to remote villages to meet many of our recipients, but meeting the children and their families is the most rewarding part of our work.

  • We spend time with each recipient, making sure the chair fits properly and they know how to use it appropriately. During these visits we often find opportunities to make adjustments in the home, which has included building ramps and addressing rough terrain.

Most of us go through life blissfully unaware of the serious mobility needs in developing countries. 90% of people who need wheelchairs in 156 countries don’t have them. The life experiences and opportunities of these people are severely limited. We are going to reach as many people as we can, hopefully enriching their lives and the lives of those around them.
